This class is all about techniques and the products we sell. It is a technique driven workshop showing how the various products can be used as we make up some samples for you to take home with you for reference

September's class will be practicing and learning the art of Kinusaiga.

Kinusaiga is a contemporary Japanese art form that combines elements of traditional textile techniques with modern materials and methods. It involves creating intricate fabric collages by pressing fabric scraps into pre-cut grooves on a foam board, resulting in textured, layered artworks without the need for sewing. This technique offers a tactile and visually rich alternative to conventional quilting or embroidery.

I've been wanting to try this art form for a while and so we'll embarq on it together for this month. I've done my first board and am excited to start thinking about a second one now.

Each month there will be a different featured technique or product used and taught as we dive into the world of art and mixed media and how to use it in what you do today. We will center what we are teaching around a quote, story or poem so you also learn to begin to visually express the things you see around you each day.

You'll get your hands dirty as you get to play and experiment and see what products you like and how to use them in your card making, scrapbooking and mixed media projects. If you have an art journal and like to add pages into your journal, bring that work in. Some paper will be provided in each class if you are just getting started with these techniques. It will be a good question/answer period as well, as you learn to love these fun things.

We do have a limited number of spaces available so please do not delay in signing up if you are interested. The class is a fun and messy one so wear an apron or some old clothes, come and roll up your sleeves and Let's Get Messy.

A list of supplies will be sent before the class so you know what kinds of things to pack. Basics tool kits for these classes include craft mat, baby wipes and paper towels, heat gun, paint brushes, water container, water brush, and sponges (ink blending tool).
